Non-fiction that's visual...
Title:  Choices
Author:  Creativestreet
Genre:  Non-fiction
Rating:  G
Warnings:  None
Critique:  Yes!  The more thoughtful and specific the better :)
Summary:  An attempt to connect non-fiction writing with visuals/design. Our "assignment" was to write about either the worst teaching moment we ever had, or some time we made a choice. If you keep clicking on the image it magnifies it so it becomes readable.

I wrote little vignettes about my choice to drive (inspired by the BP spill) and tried to connect the vignettes visually to illustrate how one choice connects to other choices.

Authors note:  Thanks to my writing group for the prompt and encouragement :)  Thank you to writers who support and encourage my writing.

The Science in My Fiction Contest!
There’s been a lot of talk recently about whether science fiction is obsolete, no longer the genre of ideas, and so on. Some people have claimed that there is no need to educate yourself in science in order to write science fiction.

We respectfully think that’s hooey, so we came up with the Science in My Fiction contest!

Here’s how it works…Collapse )

With Painted Words - new website, March edition & April's details

http://www.withpaintedwords.com

With painted Words now has a wonderful new website (even if I am slightly biased). Not only does it look wonderful but now features a fully automated submission section that will be seen as a blessing for anyone wanting to submit their work to us ... not to mention what the back-end, content management system is doing to make our lives all that much easier!

This edition sees work from our oldest - and possibly best known - contributor in Hugh Fox (he said thanks for publishing him - I say thanks for giving me the chance to publish him!) as well as from our youngest, in Jennifer Michelle Norris. I hope that you enjoy their work, as well as that of the other two contributors, as much as we did.

March 2010’s edition of With Painted Words is now available. This edition features the following:

IS'S ~ by Hugh Fox
Dark Reminder ~ by Damien Marquess
Ghost of the Powder Room ~ by Evelyn Evans
My Secret Saviour ~ by Jennifer Michelle Norris

Interminable Darkness
Author: HermioneHP5972
Genre: Suspense? vaguely.
Warnings: None
Critique: Please :)
Summary: Sitting all alone in a dark room, waiting until finally you are set free.
Author's Notes: This is an idea that randomly popped into my head a couple of nights ago, as a kind of vague idea that would maybe make a good short story. Hence this. So I'm not sure how good it is.
